13 Weeks!

13 Weeks and 3 Days

So here we are at 13 weeks -- officially into the second trimester! I can definitely feel my anxiety starting to lessen and believe that this pregnancy is happening. I know, I'm crazy that I still don't believe it. However, let's just say it's a step in the right direction, especially since I'm feeling no symptoms (except for headaches and back pain). So go me! :)

All About Baby! -- Thumper is still growing away! She/he is almost 3 whole inches already, and doesn't even weigh a whole ounce yet! He/she is also starting to gear up those little vocal cords AND even has fingerprints. Those proportions are also starting to make more sense with the head being about a third of the size of the body! woot!

How Momma is Feeling -- I'm doing pretty good this week. I've started to suffer from the headaches, but that was definitely expected given that I suffered from migraines even before pregnancy. I think the worst symptom I have right now is hating the taste in my own mouth. Doritos seems to be the only thing that makes it go away which is weird and probably pretty unhealthy. Oh well. My lower back pain is also starting to kick in, but it's nothing I can't handle. I definitely do have to be careful when lifting now though, I'm starting to be able to really feel it.

Cravings -- Still Doritos. Nothing else is really doing anything for me. Although, I do think that I'm starting to move out of the Doritos phase. I just hope it goes on to something a little healthier! It is definitely at least nice to have an appetite once again though!

Highlight of the Week -- Well, we had our NT scan this week so seeing the little one was definitely a pretty big YAY! We also received the results of it all and they came out as good as we could have hoped for. For Down's Syndrome, for my age, the chances would have been about 1 in 900. For Trisomy 18, for my age, the chances would have been about 1 in 1,000ish. With the NT number, my age, and the blood work, the chances for both are about 1 in 10,000. So -- we have a nice, healthy growing little one in there which is absolutely a reason to celebrate!

Most Anxious About -- I'm not necessarily anxious about anything this week. I want to hear the heartbeat again, but it'll be a good few weeks before that will happen and I'm not worried about it being there anymore. I also learned a lesson this week when it comes to insurance and billing and all that, so I am a little nervous I guess about that. Making sure that something like overlooking what is covered and what is not doesn't happen again. I guess that just comes with the territory though!
