25 Weeks!

25 Weeks & 1 Day
No chalkboard this week -- sorry! I loved this picture too much and it's been a busy week. When S's work schedule changes, it throws off my schedule. Since I usually do up the drawings when he closes, and he didn't have to close a single day this week, we were actually productive in getting other things done/spending some quality time together and with our puppy. So, it's a little different look since it's not solely from the side, but you can still definitely see that tummy popping out!

We got to go to the zoo this week and I fed a giraffe, so this was right after that. I love that he actually sort of posed. It was one of those amazing moments in life that you just look back on and smile. I also went out this week and bought some maternity shirts. It is RIDICULOUS how much some places want to charge you for maternity clothes. For something I theoretically am not going to wear for very long, I am NOT paying $60 for jeans (which I wouldn't pay for normal jeans), or $30 for a shirt. Call me frugal, call me cheap -- I don't care. It's nuts so I call myself smart. I was able to find four shirts and a pair of jeans and hopefully that will last me through the end of the pregnancy, or at least until December! It's absolutely crazy how close we are getting.

All About Baby -- She's about nine inches and around a pound and a half in weight now -- holy cow! Her skin is turning more pink because of small blood vessels forming under her skin and filling with blood. Her lungs are also continuing to grow with a substance developing that helps the lungs expand after she's born. Her nostrils are also starting to open up this week and she'll be practicing "breathing" with that amniotic fluid!

How Momma is Feeling -- I'm starting to get a lot more anxious and nervous about becoming a mom; wondering if I'll be any good, if instincts will come natural to me, if I'll be able to handle it, etc. Hubby (as well as family and friends) are really great about reassuring me but I guess the fear will always be there. I look at my parents and while there were few good times, I see how bad and selfish they were and I fear I'll be more like them than the parent I want to be. I'm telling myself it's normal to feel this way, but emotionally, I think it's pulling me into a bit of a funk lately. Thank goodness that fall weather is starting and helping a little!

Cravings -- Hm, Oreos and a box of Dunkin Donuts munchkins. I'm sort of upset about all this craving of junk food because it is incredibly hard to resist, but oh well.

Highlight of the Week -- Getting to feed a giraffe! I know it's so silly and not baby related, but it was just one of those moments that I will always remember. The feeling and the 5 year old smile I had plastered on my face was and is just priceless!

Most Looking Forward To -- A whole week with my hubby next week to celebrate our one year anniversary! It will be so nice to have him home, to be with our pup, and I guess to go car shopping (a truck is just NOT going to fit that car seat!). Oh, and I have to go get measured next week for my bridesmaid's dress for my biggie's wedding which is pretty exciting! :)

Our Beautiful Little Family (minus Lila)
