23 Weeks!

23 Weeks & 3 Days

Here we are chugging along at 23 weeks and already into September. I still wake up some days and have a hard time believing that I'm really pregnant. Other days, the reality of everything to come creates a whole new set of worries. I've sort of been in an emotional funk this week so I've been pretty quiet to those around me. I guess I just have a lot going through my head lately -- fears, worries, anxiety. I suppose that's normal though, especially for a first time mom...

All About Baby -- She's definitely in there growing and I'm feeling a lot more movement most days. It's such an amazing feeling! She is starting to outgrow the "fruit" comparisons apparently because I guess "average" sizes aren't as normal now as we keep progressing. Her face is also fully formed now with the exception of some baby fat. She is also still listening to all the sounds around her, and maybe it's just a coincidence, but I LOVE when she responds to her daddy's voice. The smile he gets is just priceless.

How Momma is Feeling -- Like I said, I've been feeling sort of blah this week. I guess in a way overwhelmed could be the right word to use. However, it's not really feeling overwhelmed with things, it's more of overloaded with emotions. It's just sort of put me in a funk this week. Thank goodness S has had more time off from work (thank you unused vacation time that he can't carry over) which has sort of helped because he's good at helping me focus on the positive! Physically, I'm doing okay. I really miss the energy boost that I had the first month or so of the second trimester. Other than that, no real big issues!

Cravings -- A decent night's sleep and my Thanksgiving dinner!! As weird as this sounds for me, I also can't seem to get enough water to drink. As someone who used to hate water, the refreshing taste is just amazing. Maybe it's my body's way of telling me I need it, but at least it's healthy!

Highlight of the Week -- One night we were laying in bed and Lila was cuddled up with us. The baby was kicking and Lila sort of looked at us funny. Then the baby kicked really hard and Lila got up and moved. We're assuming Thumper was playing with Lila and she could feel the kick, but it was really adorable. We have also ninety-nine percent decided on a name! We are not releasing it yet, so please don't ask, but it's sort of nice and exciting for us to be able to think about.

Most Looking Forward To -- Well, my amazing best big sister is making me my faux Thanksgiving dinner on Monday so I am SO excited to have a turkey dinner with family. We also have our next appointment on Tuesday so I'm looking forward to hearing that little heartbeat again!
